It is that time of year again when we look to the trends for the coming year. If you’re planning on getting a headstart on the interior design trends for 2020, these are the trends to be looking out for:-
Indoor Gardens
House plants are always popular but to increase inner calm and improve mental health, small indoor gardens are becoming popular. These can be numerous hanging plants to trellised wall plants within a porch to miniature bonsai gardens to an indoor ‘window box’ of herbs.
3D Geometrics
Geometric patterns have been a popular trend in recent years but now it has gone one step further with 3D geometric patterns such as on interesting and vibrant wallpapers.
Tropical Botanicals
Florals, trees, birds and bees have been popular within fabric and wallpaper designs for many years but the designs are going bolder for 2020 with vibrant tropical botanical designs making a vivid splash within various rooms.
Warm Neutrals
Has grey has its day? The trend for 2020 is for warm neutrals in various shades of creams to light browns with textures adding the layers and interest.
Velvet
Velvet is a beautifully luxurious fabric especially for statement plush sofas and armchairs, even more so when teamed with buttoning, fringing and piping for extra luxurious detailing.
Kitchen Trends 2020
Amongst the popularity of handleless cupboard doors, kitchen islands, touch control induction hobs and colourful appliances, smart storage is going to be the key kitchen trend. Deep drawers that offer easy access to everything in the drawer (compared to trying to find things at the back of a cupboards) are made even more organised with various designs of wooden drawer organisers so crockery and cutlery stay in their designated spaces. Add in automatic lighting and hidden sockets for added convenience.
