CCTV Camera Cost Survey 2021

CCTV Camera Cost Survey 2021 - Tradesmen.ie Blog

CCTV cameras can dramatically increase the security of your home or business.  Some of the advantages of CCTV are as follows:- 1. A visual crime deterrent, 2. The ability to monitor activity around your property, 4. reduce insurance premiums, 5. Peace of mind.

Recently we carried out a price survey with CCTV Installers on our website. We asked them how much would it cost excluding VAT to supply and fit a good quality CCTV camera system on an average house and if they had any tips for the customer on having a good experience with the tradesman.  Here is a sample of the replies we received below:-

Stephen from Dublin: We charge €850 plus vat for a four camera cctv system, this includes 4 channel recorder,  4 colourvu cameras which allows full colour pictures at night, professionally wired and connected to their phones for remote viewing,  this all comes with a 2 years parts and labour warranty.

Eoin from Dublin:  An average 3 bed semi with cameras mounted on soffit €1250.

Includes;

4 colour view cameras

1 monitor

1 x 4 port recorder c/w 1TB hard drive,

All wiring , setting up phones for remote viewing etc.

All equipment Hik Vision.

Fergal from Louth:  For a basic install, 4 cameras and DVR, supply and fit you’d be looking around the €600 + VAT range. If you wanted to upgrade for IP cameras, bigger storage space you’d be looking between €1000-€1200 + VAT range.Tips: Don’t go for cheapest option and always get reviews from previous customers.

Gezim from Dublin:  It usually depends on the clients budget.

All our equipment / products are under warranty, our engineers show the clients the full use of their equipment and all our products are of the highest standard. Sample Quotes : HIKVISION CCTV 8MP Kit Bundle (included):

General Tips for hiring a tradesman

Here are some tips to consider when hiring a tradesman:-

1. Ask for phone numbers of references so that you can check them out

2. Check insurance of the tradesman where insurance is required

3. Hire a suitably qualified architect, building surveyor or building engineer if the job is anything to do with a new build, building renovation or extension

4. Agree on some sort of stage payments for the job. Remember that full payment should not be made until the job is complete and has been inspected by you, and if necessary by a certifier.

Please note that service providers who install and maintain CCTV must hold a PSA license.  For further information please see https://www.psa-gov.ie/
