Hi folks,
I hope you are all coping ok with the Corona Virus Lock Down. I don’t usually do this but in this video of our March Draw I just felt that I had to make a plea to our government and everyone to wear face masks. I feel very strongly that wearing face masks will help prevent the spread of the Corona virus and save live. I’m not sure if many people will see it or take heed but if you agree that face masks might help to slow down the spread of the Corona Virus and save lives, please leave a comment, share this video or share some of the links below. You will notice that I am wearing a face mask in this video and the reason why I am wearing a face mask is to highlight that I feel very strongly that wearing face masks will help prevent the spread of the Corona virus and save lives. I have seen enough evidence to convince me of this fact. I think the Government and the public service in Ireland have done an incredible job so far but if people were encouraged to wear masks it would be such a huge help to slow down the spread of the virus even further.
The most important reason to wear a mask is to stop the person wearing the mask from spreading the virus to someone else rather than the opposite way around. And if, by wearing a face mask, you or I can save even one life then it will be worthwhile.
Why do I think that face masks will help to prevent the spread of the virus. Well, we can see that China, Hong Kong, South Korea and Singapore are some of the few countries to get the virus under control.
If you look at video footage from those countries you will notice that they are all wearing face masks and wearing of masks is encouraged in those countries. In the Czech Republic and Austria, it is mandatory to wear face masks.
Do the governments in the West not put two and two together and see that face masks are an important strategy in keeping the virus under control. I would like to ask our Government and the powers that be to make a huge step and ask everyone who goes out to wear masks to prevent the spread of the virus.
People who feel sick aren’t supposed to go out at all, but there is evidence to suggest that people without symptoms may also transmit the coronavirus without knowing they’re infected. There is the argument that masks cannot be purchased but that’s no excuse, there’s plenty of videos on Youtube showing how you can make your own masks. Even the government of Hong Kong has an official Youtube video showing people how to make their own masks. Other governments have also followed suit.
If everyone stayed apart properly, wore face masks and followed the hand hygiene advice etc, the whole thing would be over in a couple of weeks. Don’t forget that you should wash your hands when putting on or taking off a face mask and do not touch your face with your hands. There are tutorials online for how to do it correctly so please check these out also.
The draw for everyone who hired a tradesman and provided feedback in the month of February was held on March 31st. The results are as follows:-
The winner of the 1st prize of €100 cash was Alan Toner from Carlingford, Co. Louth.
The winner of the 2nd prize of €30 was Niamh Reilly, Castlebar, Co. Mayo.

Don’t forget that everyone who hires a tradesman and provides feedback will be entered in a draw at the end of each month but until these Corona Virus restrictions are lifted only essential works can be carried out.
However, please feel free to post jobs and get quotes and hopefully when the restrictions are lifted everything can get back to normal asap.
