Hi folks, here’s a video with 4 tips we give on tradesmen.ie to anyone is considering hiring a tradesman. You can see a transcript of the video below:-
1. Ask for phone numbers of references so that you can check them out
2. Check insurance of the tradesman where insurance is required
3. Hire a suitably qualified architect, building surveyor or building engineer if the job is anything to do with a new build, building renovation or extension
4. Agree on some sort of stage payments for the job. Remember that full payment should not be made until the job is complete and has been inspected by you, and if necessary by a certifier.
While there may be other things to take into consideration when hiring a tradesman, these tips are a good starting point at least. 1, 2 and 4 are also good tips to remember when considering hiring any other types of service provider from any source so be sure to remember these points and feel free to print out this page if you like!:)
